Policies

Attendance is mandatory. More than three (3) absences will result in a non-passing grade. There are no excused absences; all absences, with or without notes from doctors, coaches, parents, etc., are subject to the attendance requirement. If you cannot meet the minimum attendance requirement, you should plan to take the course another time.

Late work: Points will be deducted from all late work. Each day after the original due date, half of a letter grade will be deducted.

In the Classroom: Turn cell phones off.

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is using someone else’s writing without giving them credit for it. If you use direct quotes or even just ideas without giving credit, you have plagiarized. Today, the most common form of plagiarism uses the internet. My policy is this: if a student plagiarizes, he or she will receive a zero on the assignment and will be required to have a consultation with the professor before returning to class. If a student plagiarizes more than once, he or she will receive a failing grade for the class and a report will be made to the academic dean.
